New Delhi: The central government on Tuesday said that states and union territories have canceled 4.39 crore ineligible, fake and fake ration cards since 2013. Jyoti said that the States/UTs regularly review their lists to identify and remove the ineligible ration cards and other omitted and actually eligible families/beneficiaries under the NFSA for the purpose of population coverage under the Act. include up to the limit. “Accordingly, and due to use of technology in TPDS operations i.e. due to digitization of ration card data, de-duplication, Aadhaar seeding, detection of ineligible, duplicate, fake ration cards, migration, death of beneficiaries, etc. States/UTs of the year A total of 4.39 crore ineligible, fake and fake ration cards have been removed during 2013 to 2020 so far.

Jyoti also said that the States/UTs have been advised to do proper verification to ensure that the ration cards of genuine beneficiaries are not deleted or suspended.
