State on high alert ahead of Friday prayers; Violence in several states over Agneepath scheme; More

Ahead of Friday prayers, security has been tightened in several states across the country. The move comes after violence in several parts of the state after Friday prayers last week. Along with the deployment of heavy police force, CCTV cameras and drones will be used to keep an eye on all the activities.

Meanwhile, nationwide protests against the central government’s Agneepath scheme continued for the third day on Friday in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The protesters mainly consist of youth protesting against the government’s four-year plan. However, in one-time relaxation, the central government has increased the upper age limit for Agneepath Yojana from 21 to 23 years. Trains were canceled and delayed in many parts of the country as protesters targeted railway lines. In Bihar, trains were torched at several railway stations across the state. In Bihar’s Buxar district, more than 100 youths stormed the railway station and sat on the tracks.
