New Delhi: Taking a stand against three controversial agriculture laws passed by the central government last year, farmers’ organizations on Thursday announced an end to their year-long protest after the Modi government submitted a revised resolution sought by the agitators.

The withdrawal of the protests was announced by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of farmers protesting at various borders of Delhi on agricultural issues.

The protesting farmers will now start going back to their homes.

Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chadhuni said, “The farmers’ agitation led by the United Kisan Morcha is being postponed because the Center has agreed to our demands.”
