Ahead of Amit Shah’s visit to West Bengal, internal discord in BJP has started coming to the fore. In Barasat of North 24 Parganas, 15 leaders including former BJP District President have resigned. At the same time, in Bankura too, local leaders have opened a front against the district president. Since the election results in Bengal, there has been a stampede within many parties.
According to the report of ABP Ananda, 15 leaders of Barasat have resigned accusing BJP District President Tapas Mitra of corruption. The leaders have written a letter to the state president Sukanto Majmudar saying that the district president is indulging in corruption along with the Trinamool leaders.
The leaders of Barasat have collectively sent their resignations to BJP State President Sukanto Majmudar.
Rebellion in Bankura and Vishnupur
Apart from Barasat, the tone of rebellion within the party has also intensified in Bankura and Vishnupur. BJP Panchayat member Gautam Mahato has made serious allegations against Bankura District President and said that the party makes a person who consumes cannabis as District President. At the same time, in Vishnupur, the leaders of the organization have spoken against the district president.
7 MLAs left the party in a year
The results of Bengal elections came in May 2021, since then 7 MLAs have left the party. Strong leader Mukul Roy is also included in this. Apart from this, veteran leaders like Rajib Vannerjee, Babul Supriyo have also left the party. The BJP had won 77 seats in the Bengal elections.
Mukul Roy was the National Vice President in the BJP, but resigned from the party after he was not made the Leader of the Opposition.
Shah is going to Bengal on a 3-day tour from May 4
Amit Shah is going to Bengal on a 3-day tour from May 4. BJP state vice-president Soumitra Khan told the media that Shah will hold a meeting with party leaders on May 4 in Kolkata. In the meeting, Shah will also take direct feedback from the workers regarding the functioning of the organization.
