Stadium in Houston named after Indian-Americans who envisioned bringing cricket to America

India House Houston, a non-profit organization based in the US state of Texas, has dedicated its grand stadium to Dr. Durga and Sushila Agarwal, who played a key role in building the arena that would host games for Indian-Americans. will serve as a replacement. and cultural programs.

Dr. Durga Agarwal, Founder & CEO, Piping Technology & Products, is a founding member and current trustee of India House.

He shared his vision of bringing cricket to America and creating a center that is inclusive and fosters cultural diversity.

As a plaque was unveiled by Agarwal, stadium lights were turned on to illuminate the 5.5-acre grounds to applause from spectators during a ceremony last week in which more than 100 Indian-Americans participated. Taken, keeping in mind the COVID-19 protocol.

Agarwal and his wife Sushila have been associated with India House since its inception and have contributed immensely. He continues to serve on several boards such as the University of Houston System such as the Board of Regents, the Board of Directors of the Asia Society Texas, among others.
