St Lucia franchise in CPL re-branded as St Lucia Kings

St Lucia: The St Lucia franchise in the Caribbean Premier League was rebranded as the St Lucia Kings on Monday. Previously called St. Lucia Zouks, the franchise is owned by the consortium that runs IPL Franchise Punjab Kings.

Speaking on the occasion, Satish Menon, CEO, St. Lucia Kings and Punjab Kings, said: “St. Lucia Kings is in line with the KPH Dream Cricket brand position, and we believe the time was right for us to merge with the sister brand. And its underlying value with the Mother brand.”

The Kings will play their first match of the season against the Jamaica Tallawahs on 27 August. The team will be coached by Andy Flower and will have players like Faf du Plessis, Andre Fletcher, Rakhim Cornwall and Wahab Riaz. The owners of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders and more recently Rajasthan Royals also run teams in the CPL.
