Sunrisers Hyderabad star T Natarajan said he is well aware that he is coming back from injury and has not played competitive cricket for more than five months.

As the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPLWith 2021 starting, left-arm seamer T Natarajan is all set to take control of the field for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Natarajan is returning to the field after recovering from a knee injury. The seamer was injured during the tour of Australia. The injury later intensified during the first half of IPL 2021. Due to injury and time-consuming recovery, Natarajan was unable to be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Earlier, India’s chief selector Chetan Sharma had informed that there was discussion in the selection committee to pick Natarajan for the World Cup squad but he was not picked due to injury, recovery and lack of playing time. recently in conversation with espncricinfoNatarajan shared that he is not disappointed as he himself was not expected to make it to the World Cup squad. Natarajan said he was well aware that he was making a comeback from injury and had not played competitive cricket for more than five months.
“I knew it was difficult to get there in a short period of time. A lot of people have told me that I will make the team, but I didn’t expect to get selected in the 15-man squad.
The cricketer’s last competitive match for SRH was against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in April this year. He also missed out on the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) which concluded recently.
Natarajan believes that if the World Cup was selected after the IPL, he would have got a chance to make the cut. But he was not expected to be part of the 15-man squad without match practice for months. “You cannot expect to get selected in the team without match practice. I thought of going as a net bowler at least,” he said.
