SpiceJet: Why DGCA fined SpiceJet Rs 10 lakh?

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Monday imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on SpiceJet. Because they trained pilots of B737 MAX aircraft with faulty equipment. Pilots are trained in the same vehicle as in a real plane. DGCA claims that there was a fault in that device.

DGCA claims SpiceJet’s faulty training has raised questions on the safety of passengers. DGCA opposes any SpiceJet. But the answer given by him is not satisfactory. Thereafter, the DGCA imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh. This is a penalty for training pilots with faulty equipment.

During this On May 30, DGCA suspended 90 pilots after monitoring, DGCA monitored in Greater Noida. According to airline sources, the Boeing 737 MAX has 650 trained pilots. They also have 11 such aircraft. Meanwhile, a SpiceJet spokesperson said that out of 650 trained pilots for MAX, 580 were working. This number is more than necessary.

Meanwhile, the Boeing 737 MAX has been relaunched since December 2020, following the crashes of Lion Air in 2016 and Ethiopian Airlines in 2019.
