SpiceJet passenger arrested: A passenger has been arrested for misbehaving with a female cabin crew member on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Hyderabad. According to officials, the complaint was lodged by the airline’s security officer Sushant Srivastava on behalf of the cabin crew member. The passenger has been identified as Absar Alam who was traveling with his family from Delhi to Hyderabad. During take-off, Alam allegedly misbehaved with a female crew member.
He has been booked under section 354A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) police station and arrested. Earlier on Monday, January 23, following the incident, Khan was offloaded and taken to the police station by SpiceJet security and PCR staff.
A senior police officer said, “On Monday at 4.39 pm, a PCR call was received about a passenger molesting a cabin crew member on SpiceJet flight-8133 from Delhi to Hyderabad. The call was made by SpiceJet’s security officer Srivastava Was.”

Passenger alleges crew member touched her ‘inappropriately’
According to reports, the passenger had touched a crew member “in an inappropriate manner”. On the other hand, fellow passengers claimed that it was an accident due to the limited area of the aircraft. The passenger later made a written apology, but was offloaded to avoid any further controversy.
“On January 23, 2023, SpiceJet’s wet-leased Korendan aircraft was scheduled to operate SG-8133 (Delhi-Hyderabad). While boarding at Delhi, a passenger behaved in an unruly and unbecoming manner, the cabin Annoyed and distressed to the crew,” the airline said in a statement.
The statement further said, “The crew informed the PIC and the security personnel. The said passenger and a co-passenger, who were traveling together, were offloaded and handed over to the security team.”
