Charanjit Singh Channi, 58, will be the next Chief Minister of Punjab. Soon after being elected as the CLP leader, Channi along with other party leaders met Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit and staked claim to form the new government. Channi is said to be close to state PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu.
