Special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be held at 10 am today. In this, a proposal will be brought against the imposition of central rules on 23 thousand employees of Chandigarh. The Punjab government will cancel the notification of Central Civil Service Rules issued by the Centre. CM Bhagwant Mann himself will present this proposal on behalf of the Punjab government.

Opposition parties have welcomed this but have asked the government to take a bigger stand on Chandigarh. He said that just for passing the resolution should not be used as a bluff. The BJP has accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of misleading Punjab.

Punjab’s villages ruined Chandigarh: Congress
Congress MLA Pargat Singh said that Chandigarh is a part of Punjab. Chandigarh was made by destroying the villages of Punjab. 60% of Punjab employees were employed here. The rights of Punjab are being snatched from Chandigarh.

Mere proposal won’t work: Akali Dal
Akali Dal spokesperson Dr. Daljit Cheema said that we were already saying that strict steps should be taken by convening an all-party meeting. The Center is robbing Chandigarh on the rights of Punjab. Mere proposal will not work, strict action should be taken on it. Proposals remain paperwork.

Unnecessary issue is being raised by the government: BJP
BJP’s Punjab General Secretary Jeevan Gupta said that the Aam Aadmi Party is unnecessarily giving importance to this issue. Employees of Punjab also work in Uttar Pradesh. Punjab’s apprehension about Chandigarh is unnecessary. Punjab is being misled by calling a session.

Resolution was also passed on BSF issue
Earlier, the previous Congress government had opposed the expansion of the BSF in Punjab. The Center had reduced the BSF’s range from 15 to 50 km. After which the Congress government of Punjab led by the then CM Charanjit Channi canceled the notification of the Center. However, it was of no use at the ground level. BSF is working according to the notification of the center.
