special | Rakesh Tikait announces ‘Mission UP’, says ‘we will make Lucknow like Delhi’

New Delhi: Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union has warned to make Lucknow like Delhi. Speaking exclusively to ABP News on Monday, the BKU leader said that all roads leading to Lucknow will be sealed by farmers after September 5.

“A big Kisan Panchayat will be organized in Muzaffarnagar on 5th September. The whole country has been put under siege. Our agitation will not be withdrawn till the three agricultural laws are repealed. We will make Lucknow like Delhi. We will shut down Lucknow. streets around.”

Along with this he said, “There is a state of UP agitation. Sugarcane rates have not increased for the last 4 years, Rs 12,000 crore is still outstanding. Yogi government did not increase a single rupee for sugarcane. Electricity free to farmers in 7 years.” It is -8 states but it is not so in UP.

Yogendra Yadav said that today we have completed 8 months of our movement. This movement has brought back the self-respect of a farmer. Along with understanding the political power of the farmer, unity has also increased. Despite our agitation, our demands have not been accepted. Today we have come to announce the expansion of our movement. We are announcing Mission UP/Uttarakhand.

Yogendra Yadav said that rallies, mahapanchayat will be organized in this mission UP/Uttarakhand. Our goal is to oppose the BJP which is opposing the farmers’ movement at every step. We are making efforts and in the coming months it will be expanded across the country. In this mission, we will work to raise national issues as well as state issues. Some time back, the UP government had made claims to purchase food grains at MSP. If the figures are collected, the wheat production in UP is 308 lakh tonnes. According to the data, till July 20, 56.8 lakh tonnes i.e. 18 percent have been procured.

Along with this, he said that nothing has happened in the name of purchase of the remaining crops. As a result, the farmer had to sell his crop at a rate lower than the MSP. To compel the government, we will take steps like freeing toll plazas in Haryana, Punjab, boycotting BJP and their allies in UP too.
