Special Parliament Session: Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha Adjourned Sine Die – News18

India scripted history as Rajya Sabha cleared the women’s reservation bill on Thursday. The motion was adopted in the House with 215 MPs voting in favour and none against and without any abstention. Earlier, all Rajya Sabha MPs — cutting across party lines — verbally supported the bill even as some opposition members termed it an election gimmick. The bill was cleared in Lok Sabha on September 20. It proposes 33 percent reservation for women in the Lower House and state assemblies and was cleared with 454 Lok Sabha MPs voting in its support and only two against.
