SP founding member, Kashi MLC joins BJP. India News – Times of India

Lucknow: The founding member of Samajwadi Party and MLC from Varanasi has got a new setback. Shatrudh Prakash faulty to BJP on Friday. Prakash’s term in the Upper House was scheduled to end on July 6, 2022.
Prakash, who joined the saffron party in the presence of UP BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh at the party headquarters, said that he always practiced anti-Congress politics from the beginning. He also lauded the Yogi Adityanath government for taking out the mafia and criminals from eastern UP.
Swatantra Dev Singh said that the coming Light The party will get more strength in the BJP camp. Prakash represented the Varanasi Cantt Assembly seat four times – in 1974 (Socialist Party), 1977 (Janata Party), 1985 (Lok Dal) and again in 1989.

Prakash has been one of the most vocal voices of the SP in the Legislative Council. He has been particularly vocal for the development of Varanasi, especially the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. He had recently requested the Yogi government to include Kashi Vishwanath Dham in the World Heritage.
