Sonam Khan recalled her last conversation with Divya Bharti, days before her passing.

In a heartfelt interview, Khan shared poignant memories, including their final conversation just days before Bharti’s tragic passing, and discussed the significant impact Bharti left on the film industry.

Senior actor Sonam Khan has often expressed her admiration for the late Divya Bharti, remembering her as a remarkable talent with a bright future. In her reflections, Khan frequently highlights Bharti’s vibrant screen presence and the natural charm she brought to her roles. Despite Bharti’s life and career being tragically cut short, Khan acknowledges the significant impact she left on the film industry and the void her untimely passing created. She also recounted the last conversation with her.

Recalling her last conversation with Bharti just days before the actress tragically fell from the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment in Versova on April 5, 1993, Khan shared with Bollywood Bubble, “She used to tell me to look at the moon, saying that I would have a beautiful baby just like me. She was an actress with whom I had a great bond, and wherever she is, I hope she is happy. What more can I say?”

In the same interview, Khan added, “She was a very nice girl. Had she been alive today, she would have been at the top. It’s heartbreaking, the accident that happened to her; it shouldn’t have happened, but what can we do now?”

Khan further revealed that Bharti was originally cast as the female lead in her former husband Rajiv Rai’s action thriller ‘Mohra’. However, following Bharti’s untimely demise, Raveena Tandon took on the role. The film, which also starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Naseeruddin Shah, was a major success.

Khan also reminisced about how rare genuine friendships between female actors were during that time. On Friendship Day, she paid tribute to her late friends Sridevi and Divya Bharti by sharing heartfelt posts on Instagram. Alongside two sets of photographs with the beloved actors, she wrote, “Some friendships are not to be mentioned. It’s an emotional day for me. #HappyFriendshipsDay, everyone!”

Her performances were widely praised, and she was often compared to established stars, despite her brief time in the industry.

Tragically, Divya Bharti’s life was cut short when she passed away on April 5, 1993, at the age of 19, after falling from the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment in Mumbai. Her untimely death shocked the nation and left a void in Bollywood.
