Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23 at the actress’ Bandra residence in Mumbai. On the same night, the couple hosted a wedding reception for their friends.
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal on Wednesday shared some memorable moments from their wedding reception. In the new video, shared by the newlyweds, Sonakshi and Zaheer were seen dancing their hearts out to old Bollywood songs such as “Teri Chunariya” and “Chhaiyya Chaiyya”.
The video begins with the newly married couple making a grand entry as they pose with the paparazzi. We then see Sonakshi hugging her best friend and actress Huma Qureshi, posing with Kajol for a selfie, performing Anil Kapoor’s ‘My Name Is Lakhan’ hook step, hugging Salman Khan and then consoling an emotional Rekha by telling her “Rona mat (Don’t cry)” as the veteran actress tears up looking at the new bride.
The video then shows Sonakshi calling out Zaheer’s name for a group photo with her parents Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. We also see the couple and many other guests including Rajkummar Rao, Arbaaz Khan, Ayush Sharma, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari grooving to songs like “Mujhse Shadi Karogi” and “Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein.”
Sharing the video, the couple captioned the post: “Shaadi ASMR. Feel it, Enjoy it… like we did. Big shout out to all our friends, families and teams for giving us the PERFECT wedding!! Sona aur Zaheer ki shaadi… ek EPICCCCCCC PARTY toh banti haiiiii bosssss!!!” (sic)
Before this, Sonakshi Sinha shared 10 stunning photos from her wedding with Zaheer Iqbal, each accompanied by a caption and a backstory and fans couldn’t have enough of it! In the first photo, Zaheer and Sonakshi pose in a filmi way, and she mentions that it is now her phone wallpaper. In one of the photos, a shirtless Zaheer plants a sweet kiss on wife Sonakshi’s cheek. Another photo shows Sonakshi tearing up as she looks at herself in the mirror, adorned in sindoor, for the first time.
She captioned the photos, “Ever heard of a bride who got ready before her groom? No?? Well, here you go. Bride also cried looking at herself in Sindoor for the first time!!!”
Sonakshi also shared an anecdote about Zaheer getting ready before she did. She wrote that since she was ready before him, she stood by the door and looked at Zaheer from afar, who still wasn’t decked up for the big day. She wrote in the caption, “Since bride was ready, she went to admire groom from afar who still wasnt. I remember telling @sam_and_ekta who are the geniuses behind capturing all these moments “isnt he supposed to be admiring me like this while i get ready?!?” There was a collective nod from everyone present in the room.”
