Somy Ali and Salman Khan reportedly dated for about eight years before calling it quits in 1999.
Somy Ali, who reportedly dated Salman Khan in the ’90s, is likely to participate in Bigg Boss 18. A post has gone viral on Instagram which claims that Somy has been approached by the makers of Bigg Boss for the show’s upcoming season. While her participation has not been officially announced as of now, the viral post has left netizens excited.
What Is Somy Ali’s Controversial History With Salman Khan?
Somy Ali and Salman Khan reportedly dated for about eight years in the 90s. The two also worked together in the film Buland but it was never released. However, the couple called it quits in 1999. Later, Somy accused Salman of cheating.
Opening up on her breakup with Salman Khan in 2021, Somy said, “I have said it 20 years ago as well and there was no point in confronting him as the relationship had already run its course irrespective of infidelity or not. It was not mentally feasible for me to stay there or be logical to confront him. Here’s a perfect quote to describe the ending: Once I ran to you, now I run from you.”
When Somy Opened Up About Her Alleged Abuser
In July this year, Somy Ali penned a cryptic post about her alleged abuser on her official Instagram handle. She shared a series of photos of herself on social media and claimed no one supported her when she opened up about her ‘MeToo’ story because her alleged abuser was “a huge star”.
“I will be told to take down posts. I will be questioned of my sanity. I will be gossiped about having a drinking problem (the irony) yet i will go on because you have not gone through all that humiliation, and every form of torture and abuse while no one sided with you because your abuser’s a huge star and you are friends with him. He can make or break your career. You believed your friends and assumed would take a stand for you and knew everything because you literally told them and they witnessed it many a times,” a part of her post read.
A Look At Somy Ali’s Work
Somy Ali was a part of a few Bollywood films in the ’90s, including Krishan Avatar, Anth, Andolan and Mafia. In several interviews, she revealed that she had come to Bollywood to just be with Salman Khan. She had watched Maine Pyar Kiya and wanted to marry Salman Khan. She even carried a picture of him in her wallet. She left Bollywood after their alleged breakup.
