Parihar said in the ANI report, “India is committed to supporting and strengthening the efforts of the United Nations to assist member countries in countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) capabilities by providing financial assistance.”

He said: “The continued expansion of terrorist groups is a reality check for all of us that despite Security Council Resolution 2462 on Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), its implementation by member states is due to reasons including a lack of political will. remains challenging.”

Parihar also talked about the new techniques that terror groups use to collect funds. “Misuse of blockchain technology, virtual/cryptocurrency, digital crowdsourcing, prepaid phone cards, etc. poses new risks to CFT efforts.
