So far 203 pilgrims have died in Uttarakhand since the pilgrimage began on May 3. These deaths have happened due to cardiac arrest and other diseases. Uttarakhand Emergency Operation Center has given this information. These 203 pilgrims include 97 in Kedarnath Yatra, 51 in Badrinath Dham, 13 in Gangotri and 42 in Yamunotri.

More than 25 lakh people have traveled
This year, the Char Dham Yatra including Kedarnath Yatra has been started from May 3, where more than 25 lakh people have traveled so far. However, the number of passengers has come down in the last one week.

The state government had already issued an alert
In view of the rush of pilgrims coming on Char Dham Yatra, the state government had already issued an alert. Along with this, orders were also given to conduct health check-up before traveling to the temples of Himalayas.

VIP entry was banned
Since the beginning of the yatra, devotees were arriving in large numbers for darshan, due to which the administration had also banned VIP entry a few days ago.

Kovid certificate is not necessary for devotees
Claims are being made by the government and the health department that there should be adequate arrangements for health services on the Chardham Yatra routes, but there is not even enough arrangement to stay with health services on the difficult pedestrian routes of Kedarnath and Yamunotri Dham.

During the Chardham Yatra, the state government had neither made a health fitness certificate mandatory for such pilgrims nor had fixed any limit on the number of pilgrims. Apart from this, Kovid negative report and vaccination certificate were also not made mandatory.
