People associated with ANSP are concerned about the safety of the hostages and also try to find out how their deal with Uttar can be sustained. Inside the hostel, Gang-moo leaves no stone unturned to find a way to rescue the students. He tries to take them out of the cafeteria but is stopped by Com. Xu. However, before he can catch her, Soo-ho enters the scene and saves Joo. Gang-mu’s attack enrages the latter who tries to kill him, but their leader Soo-ho threatens him that if he fails to stop his violent behavior, he will be separated from the team. .

Tensions rise between the two and Com. Xu can no longer trust Com. Soo-ho.

A fight between an ANSP agent and a North Korean spy leaves Yeong-ro slightly injured, which Soo-ho notices. Though arrogant towards her, he offers to help as his guilt begins to work. The romantic tension between them escalates when he applies drugs to her wounds. He tells her that he plans to release her in order to return the favor and end their relationship once and forever.

In the last episode, we saw Professor Han’s death and Yong-ro’s brother injured. His father and director of ANSP, Eun Chang-su is still unaware of the incident. Meanwhile, Tae-il tells him to use the occasion of Han’s death to tarnish the image of the opposition party. They tell the press that Han was killed while turning north.

Meanwhile, things are not going smoothly in the North as well. Soo-ryeon warns Ji-rok that Soo-ho’s failure in the mission will cost him a large sum of money, and is held accountable to the latter party. In the previous episode, it was revealed that Soo-ryeon had given Comrade Joo a secret order to kill him if he saw any change in Soo-ho’s ideology. When their leader refuses to blow himself up with the hostages, he perceives this as a change in his ideology and raises his gun to shoot him.

However, a vigilant Soo-ho defends himself and shoots Xu in self-defense, which further breaks their trust in each other.

On the other hand, Tae-il sends his girlfriend and doctor Chung-ya inside the hostel to treat the hostages. Han-na is sent back with him to rescue the director’s daughter Yeong-ro. Tae-il instructs the doctor to kill Com Xu and Lee by lethal injection and sends a coded message to ANSP so they can come inside to rescue the hostages. He agrees to give them medicine to kill the spies. Hana also keeps a gun in her bag and asks to give it to Gang-mu.

Back at the dorm, Soo-ho plans to release some of the hostages, including Yong-ro and his friends. This upsets the other hostages, especially Bun-ok. After a series of protests by the students, Soo-ho finally breaks down and threatens to kill them if they don’t cooperate. Yong-roo, unable to stand it anymore, reveals her identity to Soo-ho and tells her to leave her friends. The episode ends with the detective Norther in shock at the revelation.

Ever since the mortgage situation came into being, many things have been happening at the same time. What works for the episode is the coolness between the main characters and Yeong-ro that doesn’t fall into the trope of a young woman in distress. Not only that, but the intimidating yet resilient women of Hosu University are a delight to watch. Bun-ok, the dorm’s phone operator is already on his way to being the most irritating character in the series. However, some flashbacks and as yet unsolved mysteries from her past can be used to justify her actions going forward. When it comes to getting nervous, she easily gets carried away by the lead, Jisoo.

On the other hand, differences between peers can pose a major obstacle in their way of escape. Doctor Chung-ya, too, know more about the spies we are shown in the sixth episode. Yeong-ro’s secret may either save her friends or put them in greater danger, but it is certain that her father’s identity is going to get her in more trouble.

With these subplots developing, the series looks like a promising detective-thriller, if you can ignore the historical facts that still continue to divide Snowdrop’s audience.
