Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday met faculty from Cambridge University and discussed the ongoing collaboration for training of principals and teachers and exploring new ways to strengthen ties. The meeting was a part of Sisodia’s ongoing visit to the UK education World Forum 2022.
Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, discussed the idea of creating a joint certification curriculum between Cambridge University and Delhi Teachers University in the areas of school leadership, curriculum development and other related areas. “I am happy to see the increasing interest of people to learn from our education model and reforms. When nations learn from each other, only then can we build an ideal education system – one that enables students to realize their potential and Helps to become an aware citizen that the world can be proud of,” he said.
“Our ongoing collaboration with Cambridge University for the training of principals has helped us create a positive environment in schools and introduce better administrative practices. We work with them to implement the best school leadership practices from the world in our schools Look forward to working.” In order to provide world-class education to children from all socio-economic backgrounds, it is important for our teachers to know global best practices. He said that Cambridge University has taken this journey of Delhi’s education revolution. He has played an important role in turning our vision into reality.
Between 2016 and 2021, around 354 officers, principals and teachers from the Delhi government have visited Cambridge University for training in 12 batches, and the next batch is scheduled to visit Cambridge between June 19-28, 2022. Developed by Delhi Government with Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, School Heads visit local schools, interact with senior leaders there and observe teaching methods. Sisodia also visited Cambridge University’s Chesterton Community College, one of the schools where Delhi government school heads go to understand the challenges of leadership as part of their training.
