Simi Garewal tweeted on the removal of Imran Khan from the post of Pak PM, said ‘idealist’

New Delhi: Actress and celebrity talk show host Simi Garewal tweeted her thoughts on removing Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as the head of government after receiving a no-confidence motion in Parliament. Simi interviewed Emraan for her famous talk show ‘A Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’ in 2006 and had known the former Indian cricketer for 40 years. The veteran actress termed him an “idealist” and said there is no place for honest people in politics.

“#ImranKhanPrimeMinister exit teaches: 1. A united opposition can sack a popular Prime Minister. 2 Politics has no place for idealists. (I have known Imran for 40 years and he has idealism at his core). He may have other failures – but corruption is not one of them,” his tweet read.

This is not the first time Simi has tweeted on Emraan. In 2018, when Imran Khan was elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Simi tweeted a secret he had shared with him several years ago.

His tweet read, “#ImranKhan I am very excited about victory. This is a poisonous cup! Many years ago @ImranKhanPTI told me that a pir predicted that he would one day become the PM of Pakistan – and his Will be murdered. Looks like Imran wanted it.. Despite the cost.. It’s sad.”

There was a lot of controversy over this tweet and later SIMI deleted it.

After this he made a tweet congratulating Imran, in which it was written,Congratulations @ImranKhanPTI, You worked tirelessly for this day. And the new difficult journey has just begun. Wishing you every success..make those dreams come true. You can do this. And be safe”.

Meanwhile, a united opposition in Pakistan, which for months sought to remove Imran Khan, secured 174 votes defeating Khan’s party and became the first prime minister of Pakistan to be voted out of a no-confidence vote.
