But on Monday night, he was most excited when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) registered a resounding Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 win in Bengaluru. Chasing a target of 213 off the last ball of the innings, the KL Rahul-led side defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by just 1 wicket.

Lucknow’s score was 37/3 at the end of the power play, with RCB chasing a target of 213. But a half-century from Marcus Stoinis and a blistering knock from Nicholas Pooran brought the visitors back to winning ways.

More drama unfolded in the final when LSG needed five runs off the last over. Harshal Patel dismissed Jaydev Unadkat and Mark Wood to add more excitement to the game. But Dinesh Karthik’s fumble behind the wickets cost RCB the loss after his unsuccessful attempt to run out Ravi Bishnoi at the non-striker’s end.

The LSG dugout turned into a joyous celebration and in fact, Gambhir was the most excited. The LSG mentor jumped from his seat and was seen throwing a mouthful. However, when he came across former RCB skipper Virat Kohli, he offered an intense handshake but Gambhir continued to pump.

Gambhir often hogs the limelight with his body language in the dugout. He was equally excited last season when LSG defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a close game. The entire dugout was quiet and tense until the dismissal of Rinku Singh, who scored 40 runs in the innings.

Earlier, Virat Kohli He was at his aggressive best in attacking the fast bowlers in the power-play, scoring 61 off 44 balls. Faf du Plessis was looking poor on 33 off 31 balls, but he found time to finish unbeaten on 79 off 46 balls. Glenn Maxwell scored 59 off just 29 balls as the crowd was treated to some brilliant strokeplay with Bangalore reaching 212/2 in 20 overs.
