The Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sikandar’ is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated films of 2025. The excitement began building with the announcement of Rashmika Mandanna as the lead actress, followed by the confirmation of Kajal Aggarwal joining the star-studded cast.
Most recently, Kajal shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set, where she posted an Instagram Story of her warm welcome, which included a personalized invite and a sunflower bouquet. Her caption, simply stating, “#Sikandar Day 1,” has only fueled the buzz surrounding the project.
The film, first announced during Eid 2024, is slated for release during Eid 2025. Despite suffering a rib injury, Salman Khan has returned to set, as confirmed by viral social media photos. According to reports from Pinkvilla, the production team has constructed an elaborate set that recreates the bustling neighborhoods of Dharavi and Matunga, at a cost of around Rs 15 crore. Filming is set to last for 45 days at this location before shifting to a palace in Hyderabad for the next stage of production. Salman Khan, undeterred by his injury, continues to give his all to the role, showing his commitment to this ambitious project.
Adding to the film’s significance is the return of acclaimed director AR Murugadoss to Hindi cinema after an eight-year hiatus, following his 2016 film ‘Akira’. ‘Sikandar’ also marks another collaboration between Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who previously delivered blockbusters like ‘Kick’, ‘Judwaa’, and ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’.
Kajal Aggarwal, who was last seen in the action-packed cop thriller ‘Satyabhama’, has been making waves with her intense portrayal of a no-nonsense cop. Directed by Suman Chikkala, the film featured an impressive ensemble cast, including Naveen Chandra, Prakash Raj, and others. ‘Satyabhama’ premiered in June 2024 and received critical acclaim for its gripping plot, stellar cinematography, and Kajal’s commanding performance. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video.
In addition to ‘Sikandar’, Kajal is set to appear in another major project, ‘Indian 3″, alongside Kamal Haasan. Directed by Shankar Shanmugam, the film is set during the late independence era and will delve into the life and struggles of Veerasekaran Senapathy. Expected to release in 2025, ‘Indian 3’ is yet another feather in Kajal’s cap, as she continues to cement her place as one of the most versatile actresses in Indian cinema.
