Condolences from all over the world on the sudden demise of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat In a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu. The CDS, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others were killed when an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter crashed near Coonoor in the southern state’s Nilgiris district.
Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra, who met CDS General Rawat at the trailer launch of Shershaah in July, also took to Twitter to condole his demise. Recalling his first and only meeting with the CDS, Sidharth tweeted, “Really saddened and shocked by the tragic loss of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others. It was an honor to meet him at the trailer launch of Shershaah recently. Peace. #RestInPeace #BipinRawat.”
The Shershah trailer was unveiled at the National Horse Polo Ground in Kargil in the presence of the CDS and Northern Army Commander Lt Gen YK Joshi and some other Army personnel.
At the trailer launch, CDS General Rawat congratulated the Sher Shah team for paying a fitting tribute to the sacrifices of the Indian soldiers.
Talking about the film based on brave hearts, Rawat had said, “We all have gathered on Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor the 527 martyrs who showed exemplary courage. Because of his efforts, people are able to gather together and celebrate in this area.” He further added that everyone was thrilled that a film was made on the life of Captain Vikram Batra. He praised the team members for their exemplary work. Expressing gratitude, Rawat said that this is just the beginning and he wants more films to be made on war heroes.
