Taking a dig at the Congress, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the power game between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar will never be resolved as their chemistry is very different.

In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, when Bommai was asked about his opponents, he said: “It will not be decided as the chemistry between the two is very different. This is the last chance for Siddaramaiah to become the Chief Minister. He has openly said that he should vote for Congress to make him the CM. He never said vote for Congress for the betterment of the state. DK Shivakumar also says the same on all forums. They have been fighting publicly. The language they use speaks volumes about their chemistry.”

Ruling out the possibility of sympathy among the backward castes for Siddaramaiah’s emotional card, Bommai said there was no possibility of it. “See, there was sympathy when he was not made the chief minister. Once he is made the chief minister for five years, the question of sympathy does not arise.

Asked if JDS’ better performance would mean good news for BJP as every time JDS got 25-30 seats, it helped BJP and hurt Congress, the chief minister said it was the other way around. Is. “More [seats] JDS got [more chances of] Congress and JDS are forging an alliance after the elections, which they did last time. Unfortunately, this time both will get no numbers.”

Bommai also ruled out the possibility of a post-poll arrangement with the JDS, calling it a hypothetical question. “The situation will not be like this. People will give a clear mandate. Since we are so sure, this question is not on our table. I cannot answer a hypothetical question,” he said.

As the Karnataka elections draw near, senior BJP leaders have also defected to other parties upset over being denied tickets. With veteran leaders like Jagadish Shettar and Laxman Savadi jumping ship, many were wondering whether the BJP’s chances in the May 10 election would be over.

However, Bommai seemed unfazed and instead said that the BJP would win both the seats. He said the BJP “made” both the leaders and if they decided to rebel, it was up to the people to decide their fate.
