Shubman Gill talks to News18 about Orange Cap win, World Test Championship and memorable summer ahead of IPL 2023 finale between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings
Gujarat Titans (GT) player Shubman Gill has had a memorable summer. He not only emerged as one of the biggest stars of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year but also won the coveted Orange Cap. He was awarded the Orange Cap after scoring his third century this season and completing 851 runs on Friday, helping GT advance to the IPL final and again face the Chennai Super Kings.
Shubman Gill talks about himself with News18 ahead of GT vs CSK match orange cap Conquered and confessed that while he thanked the universe, the job was not done.
“It’s been great and very lucky, I thank the universe. But every time like today I feel like the job isn’t done yet. Every time I perform well and the next morning I realize The work is not done yet. The World Test Championship will start as soon as the IPL is over. The Asia Cup will happen after the WTC is over. Once the Asia Cup is over, you feel like ‘Oh, the World Cup is here’ Will do. So there’s always something in the back of my mind that I look forward to and (feel) the work’s not done yet. But it’s been a great year so far for me and I’m really lucky And I’m really happy about it.” Shubman Gill Said.

On how he found the balance while playing for Gujarat Titans IPL 2023While preparing for the ICC World Test Championship final and dubbing for two versions of the film, Shubman said, “Busy is the way of life, isn’t it?”
“It’s been a busy year for me, but I don’t really consider practicing and playing busy because it’s something I grew up with and it’s something I’ve been doing my whole life. It’s really I charge me, but it’s been a busy year. It’s going to be busier with the WTC and the World Cup coming up this year and it’s going to be a really fun and exciting year for me.”
