“It’s really exciting for all the players to be playing this game again. There’s a lot of work leading up to this match. You play for two years and a lot of Test series and results should go in your favour. The opportunity is definitely deserved. Test cricket in England is always special and carries a lot of significance.

Dravid, who coached India in the 2018 U-19 World Cup, said Shubman has been a star player since his U-19 days and he saw a special talent in him during that time.

Shubman has always been a star player. When I have seen him since his under-19 days, he has been a class player. He came into the U-19 World Cup already marked as someone who would become a very special player. He’s been great, he’s had a few years with the team, he’s been in and out of the team a bit, and he’s finding his feet in international cricket, Dravid said.
