Last year, Kangana announced that she would be directing the film Emergency. She shared her look on Instagram, where she is seen wearing a sari and holding glasses. She wrote, “Introducing #EmergencyFirstLook! Portraying one of the most powerful and controversial women in the history of the world… the emergency shooting begins.”
This will be his second directorial venture after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which released in 2019. Although Emergency is a political drama, the actress had earlier said that it was not a biopic of Indira Gandhi. “This is not a biopic of Indira Gandhi. It is a grand period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation understand the socio-political scenario of present-day India,” she was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
The actress often posts updates about her film on social media. She posted a few last month in which her transformation was shown. She also introduced David Malinowski, a makeup artist who has won an Oscar and a BAFTA, who helped her become her character. She posted a few pictures in which David is seen giving her advice on her looks and helping her with the makeup.
