Saurabh Netravalkar represented Mumbai in Indian domestic cricketer before shifting base to USA.
USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar is having a memorable T20 World Cup. In USA’s campaign opener against Canada, Netravalkar allowed just 16 runs in two overs. as they went on to win that game by seven wickets.
In the next game against Pakistan, the 32-year-old came up with another sublime performance to claim two wickets in four overs. Later, he defended 19 runs in the Super Over to guide the co-hosts to a stunning win over Pakistan.

The left-arm pacer continued his brilliance against India on Wednesday and bagged the big wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer quipped that Netravalkar, who had previously represented the India U-19 team, should have got more opportunities in the Ranji Trophy.
Sharing an old post of Netravalkar, Jaffer wrote, “Should have given this guy more chances in Ranji Trophy.”
The original post, shared by Netravalkar in November 2021, read, “Still remember the special day when I got my first Ranji Trophy Cap from you Wasim Jaffer.”
Netravalkar’s old post was in reference to Jaffer’s hilarious take on the USA’s Indian-born cricketer.
In his post, Jaffer shared a collage of two pictures showing Netravalkar in India and USA’s jerseys. “Both off the field and on it,” read Jaffer’s old post.
Netravalkar is close friends with Suryakumar Yadav as the two represented Mumbai together.
Following the T20 World Cup 2024 fixture between India and the USA, the 32-year-old software engineer engaged in a long chat with Surya and India captain Rohit.
“I met them after more than a decade. It was special. We were remembering old times because we played since childhood in U-15, U-17. It felt like we carried on from where we left off. Jokes from those times, casual conversations, and dressing room banter,” Netravalkar said.
“I did talk to Rohit Sharma, who was my senior in Mumbai. I’ve played with him there. I haven’t played much with Virat, but he acknowledged our efforts after the game. It’s good that they see potential in this team,” he added.
An able Ukelele player, Netravalkar also represented India at the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. Later, he moved to the US on a scholarship for higher studies.
In the game against India, Netravalkar dismissed Kohli for a golden duck. He also claimed the wicket of Rohit Sharma (three runs off six balls).
Despite the initial scare during the chase, India succeeded in scoring the winning runs against the USA with 10 balls remaining with Suryakumar hitting a match-winning half century.
