shocking: A shocking incident has come to light in Kerala where a 68-year-old man allegedly died by jumping into a pyre. The deceased allegedly committed suicide by burning his funeral pyre at Puthur in this district. Police informed on Thursday that a person named Vijayakumar is a resident of nearby Marnad.

He was found burnt on his ancestral property. Police said the deceased was suffering from some illness and could not attend work for some time. His sister, who was living alone in a house on the property, saw the fire in the middle of the night and thought the wood may have accidentally caught fire.

He also doused the fire with the help of another relative living in the neighbourhood. They told that they found the dead body in the morning. A suicide note purportedly written by Vijayakumar has been recovered by the police. He told that in the letter written to his friend, the deceased person has said that he is ending his life as he is unable to work now due to his health condition.
