Shoaib Akhtar said that Pakistan will beat India in the WT20 final.
Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar feels that the Indian winning streak may come to an end in the T20 World Cup to be played in the United Arab Emirates this year.
The clash between India and Pakistan is one of the biggest rivalries in the game of cricket. When two Asian teams take to the field to take on each other, they are accompanied by the emotions of billions of cricket fans on the cricket pitch. While overall there has been a tough competition between the two teams, the Indian team has always dominated the events of the World Cup. India has had an unbeaten run against Pakistan and has won all 11 matches played against them in World Cup events (ODI and T20 combined) since 1992. However, former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar feels that the Indian winning streak may end when this year’s T20 World Cup will be played in the UAE.
talking to thank you gameAkhtar said, “I think Pakistan and India will play in the T20 World Cup final and India will lose to Pakistan.” He also said that the conditions in the UAE will be favorable for both the teams.
India and Pakistan faced each other in the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup, where the MS Dhoni-led team won the T20 World Cup for the first time. In the 2007 T20 World Cup, the group stage match between the two teams ended in a tie after which the Indian team defeated Pakistan in a ball-out contest.
Interestingly, India and Pakistan have also been placed in the same Group 2 along with New Zealand, Afghanistan and the other two team qualifiers from Round 1.
Meanwhile, Group 1 of the World Cup comprises England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies and the two teams that will be finalized after the completion of the qualifier rounds.
The ICC T20 World Cup which was scheduled to be held in India had to be shifted to UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament will start from October 17 and the final will be played on November 14, 2021. However, the ICC is yet to reveal the detailed schedule of matches.
