Shivpal Yadav-led Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PRSP) on Friday dissolved its state executive, all executive committees of its national and regional cells and the entire board of spokespersons.

Despite the move amid speculation about Yadav’s growing closeness with the ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh, senior PRSP leader Deepak Mishra termed it as a normal organizational process.

An order issued by the party’s national general secretary Aditya Yadav said, “PRSP has dissolved its state executive and all officers of national and regional cells and the entire board of spokespersons with immediate effect.

,
Mishra told PTI that the dissolution of all party units is a normal process after the assembly elections.
The units would be restructured within the next two weeks, he added.

In 2016, Shivpal Yadav formed the PRSP after differences with his nephew and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, who was then the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Their differences narrowed down a bit before the recent Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, and Shivpal Yadav contested and won the Jaswant Nagar seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket.

However, after the defeat of the SP in the elections, Shivpal Yadav was unhappy about not being invited to the meeting of the SP MLAs.
He also recently met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and later started following him on Twitter, fueling speculation of his growing closeness with the ruling BJP.
