Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) founder Shivpal Singh Yadav on Thursday announced the merger of ‘nephew’ Akhilesh Yadav with the party after Samajwadi Party candidate and Yadav family’s ‘daughter-in-law’ Dimple Yadav won the Mainpuri bypoll.

Shortly before the announcement of the merger, the head of the Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav Presented the flag of his party to Shivpal Singh Yadav, the founder of PSPL in Saifai, which clearly indicated that the two parties would join hands.

After SP candidate Dimple Yadav secured a massive lead of over two lakh votes in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypoll, the two leaders sat together at Saifai in Etawah district, where Akhilesh Yadav presented his party flag to his uncle.

Later he also posted pictures of the event on Twitter.

Party workers also put the SP flag on Shivpal Singh Yadav’s car, indicating the possibility of the two parties coming together.

Amidst the ups and downs in their relationship, political circles are well aware that the ‘chacha-bhatija’ (Shivpal Yadav and nephew Akhilesh Yadav) are working together to ensure the victory of Akhilesh’s wife Dimple Yadav in the bypolls necessitated after the demise of the SP.
