Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut Alleges Threat to Life, Claims CM Eknath Shinde’s son Has Given Contract to Kill him

Mumbai: Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has written to Mumbai Police alleging “threat to life” from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son, a legislator from the Shinde camp has called it a “cheap stunt”. “After the change of power in the state, my entire security has been withdrawn. I have no complaint about it. Such political decisions keep happening. The security of people’s representatives belongs to the state government and the home department is capable of handling it. ” Raut said in the letter.

“Member of the Lok Sabha Shrikant Shinde (son of Eknath Shinde) has given supari to Raja Thakur, a Thane criminal, to kill me. I have confirmed regarding the same. I am informing you as a responsible citizen,” Raut said in his letter.

Raut made the allegations in a letter to the Mumbai police commissioner, copies of which were also sent to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the home portfolio, and Thane city police.

Responding to a question related to Raut’s letter, Aaditya Thackeray, MLA and son of former CM Uddhav Thackeray said, “The complaint should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, these anti-national MLAs (from the Shinde camp) are not being controlled at all. An MLA had fired in Mahim area of Mumbai, but no action was taken.

Shinde’s faction MLA Sanjay Shirsath, however, said, “Raut is playing cheap tricks to garner sympathy.” There is no doubt that this matter should be thoroughly investigated. However, don’t forget that Raut does a lot of stunts that don’t make any sense.

He said, “I believe that Dr. Shrikant Shinde would never do this, yet an inquiry can be initiated.” Before Raut, senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Dr Jitendra Awhad last week claimed threats to eliminate him and his family members, while this week, former CM and senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan also accused of conspiring to eliminate them.
