Shiv Sena, BJP clash over Rs 471 crore fund for Dombivli road | Thane News – Times of India

KALYAN: The clash between Shiv Sena and BJP MLAs in Dombivli over the issue of Rs 471 crore fund for Dombivli roads seems to be intensifying day by day.
On Wednesday, the BJP MLA Ravindra Chavan had attacked Maharashtra’s urban development and Thane’s guardian minister Eknath Shindeaccusing him of stopping the project of 471 crore for 34 roads of Dombivli, which was passed by then chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Following that, on Thursday, Shiv Sena leaders held a press conference and hit back at BJP MLA Chavan.
Shiv Sena leader Dipesh Mahatre, while holding a press conference claimed that since many of BJP corporators are leaving the party in view of the upcoming Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, BJP MLA who has done nothing for the city, is making a false allegation against Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde and MP Dr Shrikant Shinde to hide his failure.
He added that rather, in reality, in the last two years, Shinde has got sanctioned a fund of Rs 1,690 crore for different development projects in twin Kalyan- Dombivli city and most of these projects have been completed and some projects are in progress.
Rajesh More, Dombivli city president of Shiv Sena said, “When Ravindra Chavan was minister, he did nothing for the city and he toured the entire Konkan region but when assembly elections were nearing, he made follow up for 34 roads and had got sanctioned a fund of Rs 471 crore. However, the project was not given administrative and financial sanction by the chief minister. Therefore, tenders were not issued for the work.”
He further said, “Since the tender was not issued its work order was not given and as MLA’s for the last 13 years if Chavan does not understand this simple technique then he should study it.”
Earlier, Chavan had targeted Eknath Shinde accusing him of being the reason for not getting development work in Dombivli.
Chavan had made a document publicly in which Shinde had given remarks to stop funds sanctioned of Rs 471 crore for 34 roads in Dombivli. The BJP had also put banners of the same across the city to target Shiv Sena.
