Shimla: Landslide near Khalini Road; no casualties reported
In Shimla, there was a landslide in Himachal’s Khalini Road, which blocked the Khalini Road. A truck and three parked cars were damaged due to the landslide as a tree fell on them. The road remained closed for four hours as repair work continued.
The district administration has deployed forest team and NHAI team on the spot and no casualty has been reported so far.
Himachal Pradesh has been the victim of incessant rains and landslides since the onset of monsoon this year. A massive landslide occurred on Friday, nearly a week ago, near Nalda village in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, disrupting the flow of the Chenab river.
Meanwhile, the death toll in a landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district rose to 15 with one more body being recovered on Friday, a senior disaster management official had said.
