Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale confirmed the arrest in a statement which read, “A case was registered with crime branch mumbai Regarding producing pornographic movies and publishing them through some apps in February 2021. We have arrested Mr. Raj Kundra on 19/7/21 in this case as he appears to be the prime conspirator.”
He also said, “We have enough evidence in this regard. The investigation is on.”
Kundra has been slapped under sections of the IPC for cheating, indulging in obscene act in public places and displaying or transmitting obscene books or literature in public and Information Technology Act.
Raj Kundra will spend the night in the custody of Mumbai’s Crime Branch. They will be kept in the property cell office.
According to a report, police last week registered two FIRs and arrested nine people for allegedly “forcing” actors to shoot nude scenes for pornographic films. The report further stated that these films were released/streamed on paid mobile applications.
Poonam Pandey has reportedly filed a case against Raj Kundra and his associates in the Bombay High Court. The model-actress said that Kundra and his associates are illegally accessing her content and added that the contract between them was terminated.
Meanwhile, Kundra and his associate Saurabh Kushwaha refuted Pandey’s claims and said that they have not received any notice so far.
