The two rounds of Shillong Arrows, an archery based betting lottery game played in the state of Meghalaya, will be held on Tuesday, i.e., September 7. This lottery game, which is conducted only in Meghalaya, is legal under Meghalaya Entertainment. and the Betting Tax Act. Meghalaya is one of the 13 states where the game of lottery betting is legally played but it is the only state to have associated it with the traditional sport, archery.
While the archers of the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Federation, which organizes Shillong Arrows at the Polo Ground, hit the target in each round, ticket holders are expected to guess the number of arrows that will hit the target.
Shops selling Shillong arrow tickets are open from Monday to Saturday in 11 districts of the state. Ticket sales start at 9:00 am and end at 3:30 pm, however, tickets for the second round are sold out till 4:30 pm. When participants purchase tickets from these stores, they are also asked to select a number from 0 to 99, indicating the ticket holder’s prediction on the likely outcome of the match.
There is a certain set of rules governing archers as well. According to the rules set by the association, archers have to stand at least 15.21 meters from the target. Whereas the maximum distance between the archer and the target cannot exceed 30.48 m.
As far as the timing of the game is concerned, the first round in which 50 archers are allotted 30 arrows each, begins at 3:45 pm. Meanwhile, the second round starts at 4:45 pm. The results of both the matches have been released separately on the official website: www.meghalayateer.com.
for the correct guess in the first round, the result of which is made public at 4:15 pm; Rs 80 is given for every Re 1 ticket purchased. The winner list for the second round is released at 5:15 pm and the winning ticket holders get Rs 60 for a Re 1 ticket for making the correct bet.
