META lawyers are investigating the involvement of Facebook staff in its foundation and other entities where Sandberg used company resources.

After media reports that Sheryl Sandberg abused company resources, META lawyers are investigating the outgoing COO.
Citing the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Engadget reported that the investigation goes back “several years” and is investigating the work of META employees on Sandberg’s personal projects.
When Sandberg first announced his departure from the company, the WSJ reported that the company was investigating whether he improperly used company resources in planning their upcoming wedding. Now, the report has shed a little more light on the investigation.

Meta advocates are reportedly looking into the involvement of Facebook staff with Sandberg’s foundation Lean In and their work to help promote his most recent book, “Option B.”
The report said the company is also investigating reports that Sandberg used Facebook employees in an attempt to kill a negative story about his former fellow Activision CEO Bobby Kotick.
The company may be looking to address regulatory concerns that might have arisen if such work was not properly disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
According to the report, Sandberg may eventually be asked to “repay the company for employee time spent on his personal work”.
Meta declined to comment to the WSJ.
