If there is one Shark Tank India judge that everyone fears, it is none other than Ashneer Grover. With the first season of the show, he has gained a reputation as someone who is harsh and brutally honest with the pitcher. One of the budding entrepreneurs facing Ashneer’s ruthless comments on the show was Pitcher Niti who presented his business venture Twee in One to the judges. Neeti mentioned that her venture is a range of convertible and reversible clothing.
While Ashneer had described her business as “extremely bad” and something that no one would wear, Neeti has now uncovered the biggest irony. During a conversation with Hindustan Times, the pitcher mentioned that even though Ashneer rejected his business idea, his wife wore the clothes gifted to him during The Kapil Sharma Show. On the show, Ashneer said, ‘Mere ghar me to tumhare kapde koi nahi pehenega‘ (No one will wear your clothes in my house). But the funny thing is that the dress I gifted him on The Kapil Sharma Show was worn by his wife Madhuri. It’s kind of funny because he always says, ‘Yeh sab dogalapana hai’ (It’s hypocrisy) But when I saw it I remembered that line,” laughed the designer.
Furthermore, the pitcher also revealed how Ashneer was actually very rude and how the feedback was edited out by the channel. “He actually halved his speech. He actually spoke twice so you can imagine how many things I listened to. He was cute enough to edit it. It went on for a long time. But didn’t like unke bolne se my business band hoga (Not that his comments will turn my business off). I was just thinking it was cool. TRP badh rahi hai (TRP is rising),” he said.
For Unverse, Shark Tank India was judged by Ashneer Grover, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Vinita Singh, Ghazal Alagh and Piyush Bansal. The show had a simple concept, budding entrepreneurs projecting their business ideas to ‘Sharks’ (all of whom are already India’s leading entrepreneurs) to gain exposure. The last episode of the show aired on Friday i.e. 4 February.
