In the Kasba Peth bypoll, Congress-MVA candidate Ravindra Dhangekar defeated BJP’s Hemant Rasane by over 10,800 votes.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that NCP president Sharad Pawar is conveniently ignoring the election results in three north-eastern states, but is projecting the Kasba Peth assembly bypoll as a sign of change.

Pawar had said that the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party by the Congress in its bastion of Kasba Peth in Pune city in the recently held bypoll indicated that winds of change were blowing across the country.

“Pawar is selectively looking at the election results. He is ignoring the results of three states from the North East region, but is only talking about the Kasba Peth Assembly constituency,” Shinde told reporters on Sunday and added in a sarcasm, “I hope Pawar wins in Kasba. Will not doubt EVM after result”.

In the Kasba Peth bypoll, Congress-MVA candidate Ravindra Dhangekar defeated BJP’s Hemant Rasane by over 10,800 votes.

The BJP retained Tripura in the recently held assembly elections and will continue to be an ally of the ruling coalition in Nagaland. In Meghalaya, BJP has extended support to Konrad Sangma’s National People’s Party (NPP) to form the government.

In Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party shares power with the Eknath Shinde faction, which has recently been recognized by the government as ‘Shiv Sena’. Election commission.

Shinde also took part in the ‘Aashirwad Yatra’ organized by the BJP on Sunday for two of the six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai. The yatra, with an aim to connect with voters, will go in phases in the remaining four LS constituencies.
