“It (ED) was never used before this. It is clear that the government is using this agency to put pressure on the opposition leaders. This (ED raid) is happening not only in Maharashtra, but also in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and some southern states.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar on Saturday accused the government of using the central agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) to put pressure on opposition leaders.

“It (ED) was never used before the way it is being used these days. It is clear that the government is using this agency to put pressure on the opposition leaders. ED raids) are happening not only in Maharashtra but in MP, Rajasthan, Punjab and some southern states too,” Sharad Pawar said.

The NCP chief also said that the central government has asked the state governments to take appropriate steps to contain the spread of COVID-19. The chief minister and the state government are doing this… Everyone has the right to protest in a democracy, but when the Center takes a stand, the workers of his party should also follow it.”
