Shalini Kapoor mentioned that she was expecting such an opportunity and is glad that she got the show as her comeback after almost a year.
Star Plus brings out its next mega serial which has been produced by the brains behind Jhanak. This most-awaited series will feature Fahmaan Khan from Imlie and Sonakshi Batra from Udaariyaan. The latest casting coup? The ever-performing Shalini Kapoor in an impressive role. Notably, Jhanak, the show produced by Leena Gangopadhyay is one of the most popular and viewed television shows at the time.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Shalini Kapoor will soon be a part of the show, and her character will be quite similar to the one she did in Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum where she played the role of Veena Sippy.
In the untitled show, Shalini will be seen as Fahmaan’s on-screen mother. On being approached, the actress admitted the buzz to the publication. She replied, “Yes, I am doing it. It is a remake of a Bengali show. It is based on a Punjabi family, which I am a part of. It is a fantastic role and I’ll play the character of Meher Kaur in the show.”
Shalini Kapoor also mentioned that she was expecting such an opportunity and that she is glad she got the show as her comeback after almost a year. In a conversation with the entertainment news portal, the seasoned actress affirmed that she can completely relate to the character and this is quite close to the character she did in her previous show for Star Plus.
The new show of Fahmaan, Sonakshi and Shalini is based on Ichche Nodee which is a Bengali serial. Many shows from the Bangla entertainment industry have been remade on Indian Television some of them are Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin which was remade along with Teri Meri Doriyaann and many others. Vikram Chatterjee and Solanki Roy appeared in the Leena Gangopadhyay-created and Saibal Banerjee-produced Bengali series, which was first released under the Magic Moments Motion Pictures banner.
The plot revolves around two sisters who develop feelings for the same man. The elder sister is intelligent and confident, while the younger, who looks up to her, is more reserved and enjoys music. However, the elder sister harbours resentment against her younger sister, partly because she is aware of the latter’s being adopted. As the story goes on, a complicated love triangle with twists and turns starts to develop when the elder sister falls in love with a man, who subsequently falls in love with the compassionate younger sister.
