supper star Shah Rukh Khan The Tamil director has joined hands with multi-award winner Arun Kumar, known professionally as Atlee, for the next untitled film. The news has been doing the rounds for quite some time but now it is being reported that SRK, who was in Spain for the shoot of Siddharth Anand’s Pathan, has started work on the film in Pune.
Shah Rukh is said to be playing the dual role of a father and a son. The film’s cast also includes Nayanthara, known as the ‘Lady Superstar’ of South Indian cinema, and Sanya Malhotra, who played the role of Babita Kumari in Dangal and later had memorable roles in Shakuntala Devi, Paglat and Ludo. . It also stars Sunil Grover, who was recently seen in the web series Tandav, but who first appeared as Gutthi in ‘Comedy Nights By Kapil’.
As per an earlier report in Mid-Day, the first schedule of the upcoming film will go on for ten days. It will be officially announced the day the film goes on floors and the rest of the film’s schedule will be held in Mumbai, Dubai and a few other locations. With the upcoming film, Atlee will be making her debut in the Hindi cinema industry. The film is believed to be made on a budget of Rs 200 crore.
Incidentally, this will not be Atlee’s debut for Bollywood stars. His 2019 Tamil sports action film, Bigil, a Vijay-Nayanthara star vehicle, featured Jackie Shroff as one of the lead actors. Atlee is best known for its 2017 action thriller, Mersal, which features music by AR Rahman and stars Vijay, SR Suryan, Samantha Akkineni and Kajal Aggarwal.
On the work front, Shah Rukh has been seen on the sets of Yash Raj Films’ upcoming action thriller Pathan. The film will also star Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles. She has reportedly also signed a social drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Kajol and Taapsee Pannu will also be seen in important roles in the film.
