SRK and Ranbir’s films will be released one day apart, as per reports.
Shah Rukh Khan’s King will be released one day before Ranbir Kapoor’s Love And War in 2026.
When Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in Bollywood with Saawariya, his film clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Ranbir’s film did not perform well at the box office while the SRK starrer has a cult following. Ranbir and SRK are set to clash again at the box office in 2026 with Love And War and King.
It was reported earlier today that Love And War will be released on March 20, 2026. Buzz around the film is high as it not only reunites Alia with her Gangubai Kathiawadi director but also marks Ranbir’s first film with Bhansali since Saawariya. This will also mark her second film with Ranbir after Brahmastra. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, who worked with Alia in Raazi and Ranbir in Sanju.
The film’s release date will coincide with major festivals like Ramzan, Ram Navami, and Gudi Padwa, reaping the benefits of the holiday season. However, the film will now also face a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s King as the makers have locked March 19 as the release date, as per reports.
“A film like King is apt for the Eid 2026 period and that’s what Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are aiming at. It has been a while since a Shah Rukh Khan film release on Eid, and this would mark his return to the festival after the historic success of Chennai Express. Given the timelines of shoot chalked out at the moment, the makers will make it to the Eid 2026 release slot,” a source told Pinkvilla.
As per reports, Shah Rukh Khan will begin shooting in Mumbai in January. There is also an extensive schedule planned in Europe. “The idea is to shoot the action at real locations as also the studio set up, to bring in the right blend of realism to the story-telling pattern. The makers aim to establish a new form of action with Shah Rukh Khan in King, and the superstar is also excited to venture into this territory,” the source mentioned.
Besides SRK, the film stars his daughter Suhana Khan as the parallel lead. Munjya star Abhay Verma has been roped in to play a key character. Abhishek Bachchan will play the antagonist in the film.
