Wedding Filmer revealed in an interview that Shah Rukh Khan is a meticulous editor and he loves editing his films.
Beyond his accolades as a superstar, Shah Rukh Khan has played a pivotal role as a mentor to various emerging talents in the film industry. Notably, one of these protégés is Vishal Punjabi, the renowned celebrity wedding photographer and founder of Wedding Filmer. Vishal recently shared his journey of collaboration with Shah Rukh, which spans over a decade since his initiation into the industry. His journey began with a heartfelt letter he wrote to SRK from London, expressing his desire to work alongside the iconic actor. This heartfelt gesture led to an invitation from Shah Rukh for Vishal to design a Bollywood portal website. This initial project marked the beginning of Vishal’s enduring association with Shah Rukh’s production powerhouse, Red Chillies Entertainment.
Reflecting on his initial encounter with Shah Rukh Khan, Vishal Punjabi shared with DJ Simz, “He was a lot smaller than I thought he would be. You imagine him to be bigger, but he was a little smaller, though very enigmatic and charming. When I first saw him, I was like, ‘Is that it?’ because you expect him to be bigger.”
Throughout his decade-long collaboration with Shah Rukh, Vishal gained immense knowledge about the world of cinema. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “He was a really good mentor to have. He guided me very well and taught me everything about cinema. I worked for him for 10 years before I started my own company.”
Vishal also disclosed a remarkable facet of Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement in filmmaking: his hands-on approach to editing. “Shah Rukh is one of the best editors I have worked with,” Vishal remarked. “He edits every single film he shoots and acts in. He sits with the editor and goes through every scene. It’s insane the amount of work he does.”
Upcoming in his illustrious career, Shah Rukh Khan is set to star in Sujoy Ghosh’s highly anticipated film, ‘The King.’ Adding to the buzz, the film will feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, making her debut in a lead role. To complete this stellar cast, Abhishek Bachchan has been cast as the intriguing antagonist. This exciting project is already generating significant interest among fans and critics alike.
