The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has refused to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to ‘Motherhood – The Journey of Mata Sahib Kaur’. On the other hand, the filmmakers have also announced to release the film globally on April 14. SGPC has warned that action will be taken if the film is released.

SGPC alleges that there are many mistakes in the film. Not only this, history has been presented wrongly in the film. The print of the film was sent to the SGPC thrice from 2018 to 2022, but the sub-committee set up for the investigation refused to give it NOC due to its shortcomings.

The SGPC says that the film is animated at first, but Sri Akal Takht Sahib has already ordered that one can no longer make animated movies on the lives of the gurus, but still the SGPC clarified to the film directors that if they wanted to do the film. If we remove the shortcomings, then it can be considered to give NOC.

history shown incorrectly

SGPC says that history was shown wrongly in this film. The history of Mata Sundari and Mata Sahib Kaur has been added. Not only this, there is a difference in the faces of the characters again and again, due to which the direction of the film is not right. Apart from this, the Sangat is sitting with a pair of slippers and shoes in the presence of Guru Sahiban, which is a big mistake.
