SER : Massive campaign against ticketless travel, recovery of 3.44 lakh | Rail Hunt

To check ticketless travel, ticket checking drive was carried out in its jurisdiction covering all the four divisions of South Eastern Railway. This campaign was conducted in Kharagpur, Adra, Ranchi and Chakradharpur divisions of South Eastern Railway. In which a total of 66,476 cases were reported during the investigation, in which cases of traveling without ticket or with improper ticket and movement of unbooked goods were reported and Rs 3,44,65,779/- was collected as fine.

In a press advertisement by the Railways, it was stated that during the investigation, 60690 cases were detected which were collected from passengers without ticket as fine of Rs.3,40,01,643/-. Whereas in 5,786 cases, a total of Rs 4,64,166/- was collected on movement of unbooked goods.

A total of 1439 different types of checks were conducted i.e. Magisterial Check, Ambus Check, Fortress Check etc. against ticketless passengers by SE Railway during August 2021. The campaign against free trippers will be continued by the Railways.
