Sensex climbs 356 points to new record level of 59,550
Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading at new record highs on Friday. While the BSE Sensex touched a historic high of 59,550 in the opening session, Nifty 50 touched 17,748.
ITC, Bajaj Finance, TCS, Bharti Airtel, SBI, HDFC, Titan Company, RIL were the top gainers in the Sensex. Tata Steel and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories were the only losers in the index.
All the indices were trading in the green except Nifty Media and Nifty Metal. Bank Nifty, which represents 12 of the most liquid and heavily capitalized stocks in the banking sector, crossed the crucial 38,000 mark.
